You probably already have all the ingredients in your kitchen!
This blog is to give you my very favorite DIY Sugar Scrub Recipes. They smell so delicious you'll want to eat them... and actually you really can eat them, they are made with edible ingredients that are probably in your kitchen right now!
My favorite way to use these scrubs is right before my shower. I turn on the shower, get my skin wet, and then turn the shower off. While still in the shower tub I grab a handful of the scrub and rub it all over. I then turn the water back on and continue with the rest of my shower routine. Try to avoid getting water into the sugar scrub jar.
I switch off between these three recipes for they each have different benefits.
GREEN TEA HONEY SCRUB
This recipe is a soothing moisturizing scrub. The honey is anti-bacterial and moisturizing. While the green tea fights skin cancer by promoting DNA repair and has amazing anti-inflammatory properties.
1/2 c. Coconut Oil
2/3 c. Sugar
2 tsp. Green Tea Leaves (or the contents of two tea bags)
1 tbsp. Honey
Put all ingredients into a bowl and mix with a spoon. Press coconut oil into the sides of the bowl to mix the other ingredients in. Continue until you don't see any more clumps of coconut oil.
To store my scrub, I usually just use random jars I have laying around the house (I save jars from food items I buy), however, make sure it has an airtight seal. If you want to buy some jars, these are SUPER CUTE! I'd buy these!
COFFEE SUGAR SCRUB
Besides drinking your coffee in the morning, what about rubbing it all over your body? This coffee scrub will wake you up with its rich awakening smell. Coffee is also known to reduce the appearance of cellulite, decrease the appearance of sun spots and redness.
1/2 c. Coconut Oil
1/3 c. Sugar
1/3 c. Coffee Grounds
Put all ingredients into a bowl and mix with a spoon. Press coconut oil into the sides of the bowl to mix the other ingredients in. Continue until you don't see any more clumps of coconut oil.
