Thanks for coming to the Social Craft's blog! We give you great DIY craft party ideas whether you are hosting a group for ladies' night or just wanting to do a craft individually.
Easter is almost here and I LOVE LOVE LOVE making holiday crafts. When I entertain, these little touches make the best decor for a festive holiday. This year I am making these super easy, ultra-cute DIY Pom Pom Bunnies...such an easy Easter Craft!
You might have all the supplies in your house already for this festive Easter craft! My adorable Pom Pom Bunnies will melt just about anyone's heart. So cute and fluffy! I personally made about 10 and used them in a tablescape for my family’s Easter gathering.
Video tutorial of this craft is at the end of this article >>>>
P.S. This is also a great kids craft. Your kids will fall in love with their new friend!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Chunky yarn, I like Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick Yarn. In this DIY I used Oatmeal & Fisherman
- Sharp Scissors (such as fabric scissors)
- White Craft Pom Poms 1”
- Fine Tip Hot Glue Gun
- Black Seed Beads (for eyes)
- Plastic Pearl Bead (for nose)
- Felt for ears, here is a variety pack of felt I buy to keep on hand for various crafts
STEPS
STEP 1: Wrap yarn comfortably (not super tight, not super loose) around two of your fingers about 40 times.
STEP 2: Carefully slide the bundle of yarn off your fingers on to the table. Cut another piece of yarn measuring around 5-6".
STEP 3: Put the 5-6" piece of string behind the bundle of yarn at the center. Tie the piece of string around the center tight and double knot it.
STEP 4: Slide scissors at the top of each loop and cut it so no more loops are showing.
STEP 5: Should end up looking something like this...
STEP 6: Trim around pom-pom to make it circular and more symmetrical.
STEP 7: Make another pom-pom only larger this time. Follow steps 1-6 only instead of wrapping it around two fingers, wrap it around four fingers about 60 times.
STEP 8: After trimming pom-pom number two, you should have something like this.
STEP 9: Hot glue smaller pom-pom to larger pom-pom.
STEP 10: Cut ear shapes out of the gray felt and then smaller versions of the same shape in the pink felt. NOTE: I ended up rounding out the top of these ears at the end so they weren't so pointy, I ended up liking that better.
STEP 11: Hot glue pink felt to the gray felt. Then place a dot of glue at the base of the ear and pinch together.
STEP 12: Find where you want to place the ears on your bunny. Push the yarn aside and put some glue in between the yarn and push ear into the glue spot.
STEP 13: If you are using a cotton ball or white acrylic store bought pom-pom for a tail, glue it to the tail-end of your bunny.
STEP 14: Hot glue eyes and nose to the face.
And there you go! Such a CUTE little bunny! I'm obsessed!
